God Helps Everyone

GOD HELPS THROUGH EVERYONE Once upon a time, there lived a fisherman who had grown up with the firm belief that God would surely save Him from any danger. One day, when he was out at sea, a sudden storm broke out. Seeing the huge waves, the terrified man desperately prayed to the Lord for help. Within a few minutes of his prayer, a ship slowed down near his boat and offered to rescue him. The fisherman refused saying, "The Lord will surely come to my help." The ship went its way and the man continued to pray. Soon a rescue helicopter came along and threw down a rope for him to climb up and be saved. Again the man refused saying that the Lord would surely come to his help. The helicopter flew away. The storm worsened and in a few minutes, the small fishing boat capsized and fisherman was drowned. He found himself in heaven at the feet of the Lord (for he had led a good and honest life). And indeed, he had a score to settle with the Lord. He asked Him, "All my life I believed that you would come to my rescue if I was ever in danger, and yet, when I needed you most, you let me down!" The Lord smiled and replied, "Son I never let down My devotees. I did come to help you, not once but twice! The ship and the helicopter were sent by Me alone but you refused to take My help." God can come in any form to help us. So too, He visits us in the form of good opportunities, pleasant occasions, kind family and friends and in many other ways. Let us learn to see God in everything and everyone in our lives.
